Wolfe City, Texas — The Honey Grove Lady Warriors controlled the first quarter, but the Wolfe City Lady Wolves rallied for a six-point win.
Honey Grove jumped out to a 13-2 lead as the opening period came to a close.
Wolfe City took the tempo back with a 15-6 run in the second period and then surged in front, 29-21, at the end of the third quarter.
Honey Grove outscored Wolfe City 12-10 down the stretch, but the Lady Wolves held on for a 39-33 victory.
Prisella Reyna led Honey Grove with 11 points, Ty Battle and Aniyah Smith both scored six, Tylar Lane finished with five points, Caycee Woodard had three points and Carsyn Lane put up two points.
Wolfe City’s Ava Steele led all scorers with 16 points and Emma Thornton was also in double figures with 10 points.
Madison Bell put up eight points, Kinsley Woodruff had three points and Lacy Malone tossed in two points.
