Health Trend Alert on Carolina A.M.
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACW).  By now, you are probably aware of the apple cider vinegar benefits for your health.  It’s touted for helping to aid weight loss and stabilize blood sugar.  Folks have been mixing it with a big of water and honey and taking shots for their health. The health trend continues to grow so much so that more tolerable options for consuming it are on the market.  Consumers have figured out other ways to get it into their diets.  Like adding it to salad dressings, smoothies, cocktails and even gummies.
Fruit Peelings.  Another health trend is eating the peeling of fruits.  Of the nearly 40 million tons of food that are wasted each year, fruits make up about 30 percent of that.  Hundreds of thousands of those are edible peelings.  For a lot of folks, peeling is out of habit.  Take the kiwi for example.  The skin is burly.  But it is edible.  Eating the skin provides neary 35% more folate and 30% more vitamin E to your diet than eating the flesh alone.  Vitamin C is absorbed in greater amounts when combined with that Vitamin E found in the skin.
