Quince Honey Farm’s attraction manager, Karen Jewell said: “It is so important to us to make sure all our visitors feel comfortable, and the training we have received will be invaluable in helping us to make Dementia sufferers feel welcome at Quince Honey Farm.
“We are very proud to display the Purple Angel symbol in our window.”
The Purple Angel Global Dementia Awareness Programme began life in Torbay to educate staff in shops and local services on how to understand people with Dementia and offer them assistance where needed.
It upholds the principle that people with Dementia have a right to enjoy a good quality of life and involvement within their community. The programme aims to address negative attitudes and raise awareness and understanding of the disease.
It has now inspired many similar projects all over the world. The Purple Angel is displayed in all outlets where such training has been completed.
